Sedan counterpart to original Volkswagen Gol, introduced in 1981 and running till 1996, also known as Senda, Gacel, Amazon, or Fox. The name was shelved while the Volkswagen Polo Classic filled the niche in Latin America, but revived in 2008 for the sedan version of the fifth-generation Gol.
