From AutocadeVolkswagen Voyage/Volkswagen Senda (BX). 1981–95 (prod. 850,000 approx.). 2- and 4-door sedan. F/F, 1285 cm³ (I4 OHV), 1471, 1555, 1588, 1781, 1984 cm³ petrol, 1588 cm³ diesel (I4 OHC). Booted version of Gol, launched with 1·5-litre engine from Passat, versions tuned for petrol or alcohol. Upgraded to 1·6 from 1983; 72 hp 1·8 available from 1984; 85 hp 1·8 from 1986 for GLS model. Facelift in 1987. Four-door model from 1988, the same year exports to the US began. Ford 1·6 added in 1989 as part of Volkswagen’s tie-up under the Autolatina alliance. Also sold as Gacel, Amazon, or Fox when exported. Built in Argentina as Senda. Brazilian production ceased 1994.
