Longer, wider and lower, now on the MQB platform, and related to Škoda Kodiaq (NS7) and SEAT Ateca. Top-notch interior quality with modern infotainment system; light steering and comfortable ride. Above-average handling but performance remained middle of the road. China had additional Tiguan L long-wheelbase model, with an extra 110 mm between the wheels; international markets had Tiguan Allspace, with an extra 215 mm in wheelbase. By 2019, it had overtaken the Golf as VW’s biggest seller.
