2019 Volkswagen Sagitar 280 TSI LWB.jpg

Volkswagen Sagitar. 2019 to date (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan. F/F, 1197, 1395 cm³ (I4 DOHC). FAW moves the Sagitar upmarket, giving it a longer wheelbase than the equivalent Jetta for the first time. As a regular top-ten-selling saloon in China, in a hotly contested segment, the longer wheelbase (2,731 mm) also meant a key competitive advantage over Honda Civic (2015–21), Toyota Corolla (E210), Nissan Sylphy (L21B) and SAIC’s Volkswagen Lavida Plus. Big boot, panoramic sunroof, ambient interior lighting, and leather seats; DSG gearbox proved smooth, with decent fuel economy. All-independent suspension resulted in good handling.

Manufacturing location: Chengdu, Sichuan, China

Marque: Volkswagen | Model: Volkswagen Sagitar | Predecessor: Volkswagen Jetta VI
