Volkswagen Polo/Volkswagen Polo Classic/Volkswagen City Golf (6N/6N2). 1994–2009 (prod. 3,499,896). 3-, 4- and 5-door saloon, 5-door estate. F/F, 1422 cm³ diesel (I3 OHC), 999, 1043, 1296, 1390, 1598 cm³ petrol, 1716, 1896 cm³ diesel (I4 OHC). Boxy Polo range, with addition of four-door saloon (Polo Classic) and five-door estate that were rebadged SEAT Córdobas from 1995. Reputation for being solid but slow. Facelift in 1999. Four-door sold as FAW–Volkswagen City Golf in China in mid-1990s. European market model production ended 2001; Polo Classic made in Argentina to 2009, exported to México with Volkswagen Derby nameplate.
