Two-door sedan version of Ford Escort Mk V, styled at Ghia with supervision from Luiz Alberto Vega. Part of Autolatina joint venture with Ford do Brasil and built alongside Brazilian Escort. Smallest engine from Ford; other units from VW. Two-litre from 1994. Sister car, five-door hatchback, called Volkswagen Pointer. Practically identical to Escort—dull transportation. Active after-market industry for these models.
