Latest revision as of 02:49, 4 April 2024Simca Aronde 1300. 1955–60 (prod. 1,425,329 all Aronde). 4-door saloon, 3-door estate, 2-door hardtop coupé. F/R, 1090, 1290 cm³ (I4 OHV). Restyled with new front and rear ends, and a new Flash 1·3 engine, developed by increasing the bore of the old unit. Trim levels Elysée and Montlhéry introduced, Châtelaine continued to denote the estate body. Facel-bodied Océane convertible and Plein Ciel two-seater coupé from 1957 (q.v.). Most Arondes were replaced by the P60 in 1958, but the old 90A body continued for the base models, called the Aronde Deluxe Six, with a resurrected 6 CV Simca 8 engine, and the Aronde Super Deluxe, with the newer engine, into 1959. The Deluxe 7, from 1959 on, continued with the 90A body, for export. The old estate body continued into 1960.
