Kia Visto.jpg

Kia Visto/Hyundai Santro. 1999–2009 (prod. n/a). 5-door sedan. F/F, 798 cm³ (I3 OHC), 999 cm³ (I4 OHC). Hyundai expanded Kia into a new market: a sub-1000 cm³ minicar. Based on the Hyundai Atoz, the Visto was more conventionally styled, and exported as the Hyundai Atoz (or Atos) Prime, in some cases replacing Atoz. Narrow, built to a price, and not the most refined with a harsh ride, though not as spartan as one might think. Reasonably good performance for the segment. Deleted in Korea in 2003, but had a longer life in Pakistan, where it launched in 2000, as Hyundai Santro. Replaced by a reskinned Hyundai Santro Xing in India in 2003. Production to 2009 in Pakistan, ceasing when Hyundai had difficulties with its dealer network, with the last 300 units not released for sale till 2014.

Manufacturing locations: Ulsan, Korea; Pakistan

Marque: Kia | Predecessor: Hyundai Atoz | Successors: Kia Morning (SA), Hyundai Santro Xing
