Ford Granada. 1975–80 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan, 2-door coupé. F/R, 200, 250 in³ (I6 OHV), 302, 351 in³ (V8 OHV). Compact- to mid-size (by US standards) sedan, marketed as a Mercedes-Benz alternative. On Maverick chassis, so not the newest technology, but positioned higher up. Fussy interior styling and detailing, and heavy, with poor handling. Base 200 in³ engine severely underpowered. Fairly attractive exterior styling and actually became a best seller in the Ford Division in the US, bridging the gap between fuel-conscious large-car buyers and compact buyers wanting a premium model. Mid-term facelift 1978. Twinned with Mercury Monarch.

Manufacturing locations: Mahwah, New Jersey, USA; Wayne, Michigan, USA

Marque: Ford | Model: Ford Granada | Successor: Ford Granada (1981–2)
