Mostly mechanically identical to original Escape and to the model sold in other markets, with different sheetmetal front and rear. Softer suspension, with poorer handling—some retrograde moves from Ford, including rear drum brakes. Still twinned with Mercury Mariner (2008–11) and Mazda Tribute (2008–11).
