Fiat Punto (Progetto 176). 1993–9 (prod. 3,338,896). 3- and 5-door saloon, 2-door convertible. F/F, 1108, 1242, 1372, 1580 cm³ petrol, 1698 cm³ diesel (I4 OHC), 1242 cm³ (I4 DOHC). Giugiaro-styled supermini, replacing the iconic Uno. Turbo 1·4 for GT model; Cabrio by Bertone. Economical to run, but handling and ride poor, and reliability proved less than stellar in subsequent years.
