After an absence in the large saloon segment of several years, Alfa Romeo unveiled its Giulia in 2015, with production commencing in August. Revived name of the ''Tipo'' 105 model. The first model shown was the 2·9 biturbo, developing 510 PS, with an engine developed exclusively by [[Ferrari]] technicians for Alfa Romeo. R&D—in a speedy two-and-a-half years—was done separately from the rest of the [[Fiat]] group, with a clean-sheet design and 50–50 weight distribution. Lesser models shown at Genève in 2016.
