From AutocadeFord Falcon. 1966–70 (prod. 489,102 excl. Ranchero). 4-door sedan, 5-door wagon, 2-door coupé. F/R, 170, 200 in³ (I6 OHV), 289, 302 in³ (V8 OHV). No more hardtops and convertibles, but the 1966 Falcon was more stylish and took its long-hood, short-deck proportions from the 1965 Mustang. Longer wheelbase, but shorter overall. Wagon on a longer wheelbase than sedan and coupé, at 113 in versus 110·9 in, with Fairlane body. Base model was very basic, as Ford’s entry-level compact in the US. Few changes through run. Squarer taillights for 1968; 302 option from 1969. Final half-year in 1970, but the cars were practically repeats of the 1969s. Formed the basis of the Australian Ford Falcon (XT) and its derivatives.
