Futuristic, rotary-engined saloon from Audi NSU let down by reliability problems with its rotors, leading to expensive engine replacements under warranty. Aside from bumpers, still looked contemporary by the turn of the century. All-independent suspension (MacPherson struts at the front and semi-trailing arm suspension at the rear), four disc brakes. More reliable Ro80s from 1970 but it took Mazda to figure out how to overcome the rotary engine’s long-term problems.
Marque: NSU | Successor: Audi 100 (C2)
