BYD Qin L. 2024 to date (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan. F/F, 10·08 kWh–1498 cm³, 15·874 kWh–1498 cm³ electric–petrol hybrid (I4 DOHC). Qin grows into the mid-sized segment, with BYD’s fifth-generation dual-mode (DM) system. Related to BYD Seal 06, on the same platform, but 25 mm wider (other key dimensions identical), and with simpler interior. Flat floor, aiding rear-seat comfort. More efficient hybrid system than fourth generation, and denser battery packs. Fuel consumption down to 2·9 ℓ/100 km (NEDC). Smooth, stable and responsive, with MacPherson struts at front and four-link rear independent suspension providing excellent handling. In theory, the third-generation Qin, but complemented existing Qin models in the first and second generation still on sale.
