Volkswagen Brasília
From AutocadeVolkswagen Brasília. 1973–82 (prod. 931,204 approx.). 3- and 5-door sedan. R/R, 1285, 1584 cm³ (I4 OHV). Modern-looking compact car resembling the 412 Variant, but in fact based on Käfer underpinnings. For want of a better term, a Volkswagen Käfer hatchback. Developed solely in Brazil. Not the most competitive given its antique origins (though considered reliable, in part for that reason), even in the closed market of Brazil at the time, with Chevrolet Chevette the better car. Five-door very rare; most were three-door models. Badged Igala in Nigeria, where there was CKD production.
Marque: Volkswagen | Successor: Volkswagen Gol (BX)
