Toyota Celsior (F30/XF30/UCF30). 2000–6 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan. F/R, 4293 cm³ (V8 DOHC). New 4·3 V8, and new suspension (double wishbones front and rear), longer wheelbase (an extra 76 mm) and taller. More aerodynamic, with C_d dropping to 0,25. Interior modelled on luxury environments, such as first-class airline seats and top hotels. Now called Lexus LS 430 for export. Mid-term changes in 2003, including introduction of six-speed automatic gearbox. Toyota announced that it would expand its domestic Lexus line-up in 2003, although Celsior continued to 2006 before making way for the Crown Majesta to be the Toyota brand’s flagship (with the exception of the V12 Century).
