2015 Ssangyong Tivoli.jpg

Ssangyong Tivoli/KG Tivoli. 2015–23 (prod. n/a). 5-door SUV, 5-door extended-length SUV. F/F, 1197 cm³ (I3 DOHC), 1597 cm³ petrol, 1597 cm³ diesel (I4 DOHC). Ssangyong crossover, launched with front-wheel drive and a petrol engine, with four-wheel-drive and diesels following later. Targeted Nissan Juke and Renault Captur I and designed in Italy, though Ssangyong initially kept the designer’s identity a mystery. First all-new model since Mahindra takeover. Front MacPherson struts, rear torsion beam suspension; not the best ride based on Korean-spec models, though steering was light, for urban use. Many customization options. Well appointed cabin with decent plastics, and practical, though 1·6 petrol needed to be worked. Tivoli Air (exported as XLV), with longer rear end (an added 245 mm)—essentially the “estate” to the regular model’s hatchback proportions—from 2016. Rebranded as KG after Ssangyong was taken over in 2023 before it was deleted.

Manufacturing location: Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi, Korea

Marque: Ssangyong

q.v. Mahindra XUV300, Mahindra XUV400
