Shinjin Motors and AMC established Shinjin Jeep in 1974, with more local content, with designs based around the Jeep CJ-5. Hurricane 2·2 cast-iron four carried over, though AMC six with 100 hp added in September 1974. AMC withdrew from the venture in 1978. Isuzu diesel engine added 1979. CJ-7-based models from 1980.
