Saehan
From AutocadeSuccessor to Saenara and Shinjin and forerunner of Daewoo. Saehan manufactured GM models in Korea, with questionable quality, founded in 1972 as as a 50–50 joint venture between GM and Shinjin Motor Co. The Saehan Maepsy, a version of the GM T-car (Opel Kadett C) was perhaps its best known model, but several light trucks of GM and Isuzu origins were also made. Shinjin sold its stake in 1976, and Daewoo acquired a 50 per cent stake in 1978. The company was renamed Daewoo Motor Co. in 1983. Maepsys were made till 1989 (under the Daewoo brand from 1983).
