From AutocadeNissan Sunny/Nissan Tsuru (B13). 1990–2017 (prod. 2,400,000 approx.). 2- and 4-door sedan, 3-door coupé, 5-door wagon. F/F, F/A, 1681 cm³ diesel (I4 OHC), 1295, 1497, 1597, 1838 cm³ (I4 DOHC). Nissan tries to get back on top with rounded version of B12. Fairly successful in the Americas—in the US, the Sentra SE-R was marketed as a latter-day BMW 2002, while in México and Chile, as the Tsuru and V16, it found favour among cab drivers for its reliability. Addition of NX coupé, sold as 100 NX in some markets. Various special models in Japan commemorate 60 years of the Nissan company in 1993. Japanese production ceased January 1994. Continued in México, but Nissan announced the end of Tsuru production in 2016, a day before damning safety test results were publicized.
