Comments for Cedric apply here, although Gloria had differences in trim levels, more performance models (the 3·0 turbocharged Gran Turismo Altima was the flagship), and was aimed at a younger buyer. No more manual transmissions despite the more sporting aims. Actually a pillared hardtop, with the B-pillar behind the glass. More rigid body than Y31. Sales down on Y31 as Cima became established. Regular Y31 sedan continued alongside Y32 hardtop; mid-term changes in 1993.
