F/R, 2746 cm³ (I6 DOHC), 2962 cm³ (I6 OHC), 3499, 3818, 3839, 4146, 4520, 4973, 5549 (V8 OHC). Attractive coupé series from Mercedes-Benz, based around W114 componentry but S-Klasse engines. Originally 350SL only, 450SL following suit; both were replaced in 1980 with the 380SL and 500SL. Smaller-engined 280SL from 1974. Fuel injection in the 1980s, with 560SL for selected export markets from 1985.
