Mazda Roadpacer
From AutocadeMazda Roadpacer. 1975–7 (prod. 840 sold). 4-door sedan. F/R, 2 × 654 cm³ Wankel. Holden Premier (HJ)-based full-sized sedan, intended for Japanese government officials, but launched in the wake of the fuel crisis and considered a flop. Australian bodyshells of HJ series shipped to Japan where Mazda Wankel engine inserted. Car was expensive (¥3·8 million, double the price of the Mazda Cosmo AP) and thirsty (9 mpg), and had more extras than original Holden, contributing to weight.
