MG XPower SV (X80). 2003–5 (prod. 82). 2-door coupé. F/R, 4601, 4996 cm³ (V8 DOHC). Qvale Mangusta-derived sports car, restyled by Peter Stevens. XPower was meant to be a specialist division at MG, and the business turned a profit, though everything was brought down when MG Rover collapsed in 2005. Aggressive styling after concept was ruled as too plain, and quickly brought to production thanks to Mangusta base. Fiat Punto (188) headlights, Coupé Fiat rear lights. Never that well built, though appealed to some. SV-R with five-litre from 2004.
