F/F, F/A, 1998 cm³ (I4 DOHC), 3456 cm³ petrol, 3456 cm³ petrol–electric hybrid (V6 DOHC). RX gets more angular and adopts a “floating roof” design, a mid-decade trend. Improved handling, active suspension contributing to very good ride quality. Plenty of safety gear, and beautifully finished interior. L model had an extra 11 cm in length to accommodate a third row of seats, though the wheelbase stayed the same. Not that commodious, and average in performance.
