Very safe, earning a six-star rating in Japan, thanks in part to side-curtain airbags. Low sill for rear hatch, making Zest a good choice for wheelchair users. Standard and turbocharged three-cylinder engines offered. Initially launched with standard and Sport models; the latter deleted during 2008 revamp. Zest Spark added at that time.
