Ford Ka (B146). 1996–2008 (prod. over 106,000 in Brazil only, 2002–7). 3-door saloon. F/F, 999, 1299, 1599 cm³ (I4 OHC). Small city car, based on shortened Ford Fiesta platform. Excellent dynamically thanks to that, but ‘New Edge’ styling divided opinions. Numerous limited editions to keep interest alive, with Ka sold as a fashion item. Latin American Kas facelifted 2003, made progressively less refined to save costs. SportKa added in Europe in 2003, produced till 2006. Less modern in 21st-century sense, and many markets stopped selling it before replacement (México, Australia, New Zealand). Replaced in Ford do Brasil range with rebodied B402 Ka, sold from January 2008.
