From AutocadeFord Fairlane 500. 1970 (prod. 110,029). 2-door hardtop sedan, 4-door sedan, 5-door wagon. F/R, 250 in³ (I6 OHV), 302, 351, 429 in³ (V8 OHV). Downscale Torino, the winner of Motor Trend’s Car of the Year. Fairlane marked the entry-level intermediates—at least for half a model year till the Falcon was also shifted on to this platform with an even more spartan specification. More modestly priced, but the same engine options as Torino, so one could spec a Fairlane with the Cobra Jet V8. Buyers went for the Torino more, and the Fairlane was cancelled Stateside (though the nameplate continued in Argentina and Australia).
