Ford Fairlane (EA169). 2003–5 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan. F/R, 3949 cm³ (I6 OHC), 5408 cm³ (V8 OHC). Rebodied, improved AU, looking less special. Ford claimed it was targeting a more youthful driver (especially the G220, denoting 220 kW) with ‘athletic’ styling; the reality was that BA was becoming a stretched Falcon, even sharing rear lights for the first time since the 1960s. Better handling (car was lower) and ride than AU, improved interior though some materials still felt cheaper.
