From AutocadeFord Escort (CE14). 1992–4 (prod. n/a). 3-, 4- and 5-door saloon, 5-door estate, 2-door convertible. F/F, 1297, 1299 cm³ (I4 OHV), 1392, 1597, 1998 cm³ petrol, 1753 cm³ diesel (I4 OHC), 1597, 1796, 1993 cm³ (I4 DOHC). Stung by criticisms of original CE14, Ford put into production a hurriedly revised version for 1992 (referred to by some as Mk Vb, though numerous authorities call this Mk VI). The new grille was the most obvious change externally, though hatchbacks had new lights at the rear. Much improved under the skin though still not a class leader. Orion saloon absorbed into range in 1993.
