Daimler Super Eight. 2005–9 (prod. 323 for 2008–9 only). 4-door saloon. F/R, 4196 cm³ (V8 DOHC). Luxury saloon based on LWB version of Jaguar X358, with facelift in 2007. Revived Daimler brand after three-year absence, though it disappeared again at the end of this model’s run. Lots more wood and detailing, but largely cosmetic differences only compared with Jaguar. Agile for its size, and aluminium panels helped lighten weight. A Super Eight was used by HM Queen Elizabeth II as personal transport.
