Chrysler Regente.jpg

Chrysler Regente. 1967–9 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan. F/R, 2414 cm³ (V8 OHV). Rebadged Simca, initially with a small ‘fabricado pela Chrysler’ badge, but marketing from 1967 downplayed the original marque. As far as the new Chrysler do Brasil was concerned, this was the Chrysler Regente, the entry-level model to the range. Cramped by late 1960s standards, given that its origins were with the 1954 Simca Vedette but still managing to compete against Ford, who developed it in the first place. Power reduced to 130 PS.

Manufacturing location: São Bernardo do Campo, São Paulo, Brazil

Marque: Chrysler | Predecessor: Simca Regente | Successor: Dodge Dart (1969–81)

q.v. Chrysler Esplanada
