2002 Chevrolet Venture.jpg

Chevrolet Venture (U-body). 1997–2005 (prod. n/a). 4-door MPV, 5-door LWB MPV. F/F, F/A, 3350 cm³ (V6 OHV). Strong start for Chevrolet’s minivan, benchmarked against the first-generation Chrysler entries, with car-like handling and responsive steering. Optional traction control, and ABS standard at the start, though eventually put into the options’ list. Concerns over the U-body’s offset frontal crash performance were an early blight, which affected sales. Facelift for 2001, gaining a smoother grille. Considered unrefined toward the end, and well overtaken by the new generation of Chrysler’s minivans. LWB only for the US in 2005, though the SWB was still sold in Canada.

Manufacturing location: Doraville, Georgia, USA

Marque: Chevrolet | Predecessor: Chevrolet Lumina APV | Successor: Chevrolet Uplander
