Chevrolet Kommando (AQ)
From AutocadeChevrolet Kommando (AQ). 1972–5 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan, 5-door wagon. F/R, 4093 cm³ (I6 OHV). Externally, roughly the same as the Holden Belmont (HQ), with the more upmarket Kommando LS the South African equivalent of the Holden Kingswood (HQ). The bodies were sourced from Australia and shipped to South Africa CKD, while the engines were locally made Chevrolet OHV units. Wagons were launched first in 1972 as kits became available, with the sedans appearing in the first half of 1973. Bakkie, not covered here, came with the Holden engine.
