Chevrolet Chevy II Nova/Chevrolet Chevy. 1968–78 (prod. n/a). 2- and 4-door sedan. F/R, 153 in³ (I4 OHV), 230, 250 in³ (I6 OHV), 307, 350 in³ (V8 OHV). All-new compact, replacing the Chevy II for the 1968 model year in the US. Four-cylinder offered, right up to 350 in³ for the Chevy II Nova SS. Argentinian production, as Chevy, from 1969 to 1978, with 230 and 250 in³ (3769 and 4097 cm³) sixes, sporting models getting tuned carburettors. Survived to 1978, with SS performance models, including the revised Serie 2, and various sedans, including upscale Malibu variant from 1973. American models renamed plain Chevrolet Nova for 1969 model year (q.v.). Unremarkable compact car in US, but in Argentina, used widely in competition.
