2011 Chevrolet Aveo.jpg

Chevrolet Aveo/Chevrolet Sonic (T300). 2011–20 (prod. n/a). 4- and 5-door sedan. F/F, 1229, 1364, 1398, 1399, 1598, 1796 cm³ petrol, 1248 cm³ diesel (I4 DOHC). Replacement for Daewoo Gentra, now with the Chevrolet marque in the home market with the demise of Daewoo. Continued the T codes from Daewoo. Gamma II platform, shared with Opel Corsa E and a development of the Corsa D’s one. Much smarter, boxier appearance than before, with hidden rear door handles. Dubbed Sonic in North America; Holden Barina for Australia and New Zealand (till 2018). Interior materials still sub-par, but very roomy, economical and with a good ride. Dull to drive, but far better than predecessor. Facelifted in China in 2014. End of the line in 2020, with the Aveo name taken up by a SAIC–GM–Wuling-made model.

Manufacturing location: Bupyeong, Korea; Orion Township, Michigan, USA; Rayong, Thailand; Yantai, Shandong, China

Marque: Chevrolet | Model: Chevrolet Aveo | Predecessor: Daewoo Gentra (T250)
