From AutocadeChangcheng Hover H5. 2010–13 (prod. n/a). 5-door SUV. F/R, F/A, 1996 cm³ diesel, 1997, 2378 cm³ petrol (I4 DOHC), 2499 cm³ diesel (I4 OHC). Facelifted Hover, with slimmed-down engine range, and, from 2013, a DOHC 2·0 turbo replacing the larger 2·4 in the home market. Base 2·0 still underpowered, and the H5 was noisy, with vague steering. Similar formula to before, but the new grille was distinctive. An Australian recall took place in 2012 due to asbestos being present in the gaskets and the exhaust pipe connections. A 2013 facelift gave H5 a chunkier, stronger appearance, as part of a new family look. Became the Haval H5 when Changcheng spun off its SUVs into a new brand.
