BMW X3 (F25). 2010–17 (prod. n/a). 5-door SUV. F/R, F/A, 1995 cm³ diesel, 1997 cm³ petrol (I4 DOHC), 2979, 2996 cm³ petrol, 2993 cm³ diesel (I6 DOHC). Second-generation X3, going up a size allowing X1 more room at the lower end of the market. Base turbodiesel at launch with stop–start, reducing carbon dioxide emissions. Variable damper control (although dampers were firm) and electric power steering, making for a driver’s car. Turbocharged six good for 306 PS. Decent power and torque from diesel units; fairly economical line-up. Some wind noise.
