Acura MDX (YD3/YD4). 2014–20 (prod. n/a). 5-door SUV. F/F, F/A, 2997 cm³ petrol–electric hybrid, 3471 cm³ petrol (V6 OHC). Third-generation MDX available with front-wheel drive for the first time, and hybrid introduced. Débuted at New York 2013 as a 2014 model. Better priced than outgoing 2013 model. On new platform with an emphasis on comfort, economy and safety, and lighter as a result. Lower, longer (with an extra 71·1 mm more in wheelbase) but narrower, reducing the frontal area. New Earth Dreams V6 with improved fuel consumption and acceleration. Front and rear suspension redesigned to be lighter but with greater rigidity from the mounts, and tested at the Nürburgring. Mid-term changes for 2016 model year, with six-speed automatic replaced by a nine-speed. Hybrid from April 2017. Excellent handling, quick acceleration, quiet, and well equipped.
