Autocade is an international car cyclopædia that’s geographically unbiased, carefully edited for enthusiasts and media who want a quick, accurate reference. There is a greater emphasis on models produced after 1970.
Inside Autocade
Morris Six MS. 1948–53 (prod. 12,400 approx.). 4-door saloon. F/R, 2215 cm³ (I6 OHC). Upscale version of Oxford MO, but with longer wheelbase and lengthened front end to accommodate OHC six. Independent front torsion-bar suspension; deluxe model from 1953. Related to Wolseley 6/80.
Manufacturing location: Cowley, Oxfordshire, England
Marque: Morris | Predecessor: Morris Fourteen | Successor: Morris Isis Series I
Zotye Z100. 2012–18 (prod. n/a). 5-door sedan. F/F, 998 cm³ (I3 DOHC). A sad move from Zotye: once a manufacturer of licensed cars from Fiat, it cloned the Maruti Suzuki A-star right down to the interior and three-spoke steering wheel to produce one of China’s cheapest cars. (It helps when one omits the effort of R&D.) Even the Chinese media could see the similarities. Wheelbase identical to the A-star, though overall length and width up. Electric version called the Yun 100.
Manufacturing location: Yongkang, Zhejiang, China
Marque: Zotye | Predecessor: Jiangnan Alto
Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale. 1967–9 (prod. 18). 2-door coupé. F/R, 1995 cm³ (V8 DOHC). As 1960s supercars go, the 33 Stradale is possibly the most special of all. Although its V8 displaced a “mere” 2 litres, the lightly detuned racing engined pushed out an impressive 227 bhp, giving the 700 kg car an exceptionally healthy power-to-weight ratio. But the 33 Stradale is a racing car for the road. Its body was built by Franco Scaglione, the final assembly was by Autodelta and, with only 18 made, these cars take rare-and-exclusive to another level.
Manufacturing location: Torino, Italy
Marque: Alfa Romeo | Predecessor: Alfa Romeo TZ, TZ2
