Hyundai Lantra
From AutocadeWhen Hyundai found that its Elantra name was too close to Mitsubishi’s Elante trim level in Australia, it dropped the first letter and created the Lantra. It faced a similar predicament in the UK—Lotus had the Élan. Used over two generations in Australia and New Zealand before adopting Elantra for consistency with other export markets, and after Mitsubishi and Lotus had finished using their names.
