FSO Polonez Atu/Daewoo–FSO Polonez Atu. 1996–2002 (prod. 1,061,807 incl. Polonez, Caro, excl. commercial versions). 4-door saloon. F/R, 1398 cm³ (4 cyl. DOHC), 1598 cm³ (4 cyl. OHV), 1905 cm³ diesel (4 cyl. OHC). FSO had long toyed with the idea of a three-box Polonez, but while the Polski-Fiat 125p continued in production, there seemed little point. With the 125 having ceased production in 1991, FSO developed the Atu from the longer-wheelbase Caro. Followed Caro with upgrade to Plus specification in 1997, and split grille acknowledging Daewoo’s ownership of FSO; multi-point fuel injection to OHV in 1998. Production ended as more modern Daewoos came on stream in Warszawa.
