Autocade is an international car cyclopædia that’s geographically unbiased, carefully edited for enthusiasts and media who want a quick, accurate reference. There is a greater emphasis on models produced after 1970.

Inside Autocade

Honda Mobilio (2013–)

Honda Mobilio.jpg

Honda Mobilio. 2013 to date (prod. n/a). 5-door MPV. F/F, 1497 cm³ (I4 OHC), 1498 cm³ diesel (I4 DOHC). Essentially the MPV version of the Honda Brio, on a stretched version of that car’s platform, developed in Indonesia and Thailand, with sales commencing in Indonesia in January 2014. Took its name from a 2000s Japanese-market Honda MPV. Not that wide, even if Honda claimed it to be a seven-seater: middle passengers would be cramped. Indian launch in July 2014, adding diesel engine. Formed the basis of the Honda BR-V, which replaced it in India, and gained that model’s dashboard in 2016. Facelift in 2017.

Manufacturing locations: Karawang, West Java, Indonesia; Greater Noida City, Uttar Pradesh, India; Ayutthaya, Thailand

Marque: Honda | Model: Honda Mobilio | Successor: Honda BR-V (DG1)

Nissan Primera (P11)

Nissan Primera (P11/P11-144/WP11). 1995–2001 (prod. n/a). 4- and 5-door sedan, 5-door wagon. F/F, F/A, 1597, 1769, 1838, 1998 cm³ (I4 DOHC), 1974 cm³ diesel (I4 OHC). Nissan, realizing European buyers wanted dynamism, tuned its second-generation Primera at the Nürburgring, and it was blessed with multi-link suspension front and rear. Excellent, sporty handling. Despite this, the styling remained dull, though it was a favourite of buyers who wanted dependable transport. Facelift for UK models in 1999, gaining more rounded front end. Camino denoted a Primera sold through the Sunny chain of dealers in Japan; UK-built hatchback imported to Japan was Primera UK 2·0 GT from 1997; four-door sedan sold as Infiniti G20 in US.

Manufacturing locations: Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, England; Japan

Marque: Nissan | Model: Nissan Primera | Predecessor: Nissan Primera (P10) | Successor: Nissan Primera (P12)

Wheelbase extended another 20 mm (to 2,730 mm), again with emphasis on rear-seat comfort. Launched at Beijing Auto Show 2014. Substantial facelift in 2022, with new front and rear ends, and new interior.
