GAC Aion V. 2020 to date (prod. n/a). 5-door SUV. F/F, 52·4, 70, 71·8, 80, 95·8 kWh electric. Efficient, practical EV, with front seats folding down into a bed, within a roomy cabin. Useful rear space. Flat floor, with batteries in a “magazine” configuration. Particularly safe, as GAC took measures to prevent spontaneous combustion of batteries: after 400,000 sales of Aion vehicles, there was not a single case. Battery cell resistant to high temperatures with good heat dissipation and no thermal runaway. Also sold with a different grille and other changes as the Mitsubishi Airtrek (2022–).
