Revision as of 07:56, 24 February 2020Mercury Marquis. 1969–72 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan, 2-door coupé, 4-door hardtop sedan, 5-door wagon, 2-door convertible. F/R, 351, 400, 429, 460 in³ (V8 OHV). Mercury’s version of the Ford LTD (1969–72), one of the more reliable full-size lines in the US, albeit with terrible gas mileage. Handling reasonable initially but as the 1970s began, Mercury went for something softer, akin to Lincoln, making the cars less manœuvrable. Regular station wagon for 1970 without fake wood panelling to complement existing Colony Park. Revised interior and exterior for 1971, the same model year when the convertible was no longer offered. Power sunroof offered 1972. Mercury Meteor LeMoyne in Canada for 1969–70, as Canada began seeing Mercury badges on its once-separate Meteor line.
