Mercury Monterey. 1969–72 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan, 2-door coupé, 4-door hardtop sedan, 5-door wagon, 2-door convertible. F/R, 351, 400, 429, 460 in³ (V8 OHV). In the US, Mercury’s entry-level full-size line, with exposed headlights and more basic trim compared with the Mercury Marquis (1969–72) flagship. Similar remarks to Marquis apply: a reasonably reliable line among its competitors, with ride and handling softened as the 1970s began. Convertibles ran through 1970 model year.
