Saturn Ion Quad Coupé.jpg

Saturn Ion. 2003–7 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan, 4-door coupé. F/F, 1998, 2198, 2384 cm³ (I4 DOHC). Base Saturn related to Opel Astra H, with unusual coupé featuring two small access suicide doors. Continued to use polymer side panels. Acceptable performance from base Ecotec 2·2, with excellent ride thanks to independent front and semi-independent rear, and good refinement. Variable-ratio electric power steering. Red Line coupé featured supercharged 2·0 delivering nearly 200 hp, but was a compromised performance car, with tall gearing.

Manufacturing location: Spring Hill, Tennessee, USA

Marque: Saturn | Predecessor: Saturn S-series (1996–2002) | Successor: Opel Astra H
