Rolls-Royce Ghost (RR04). 2009–19 (prod. n/a). 4-door saloon, 4-door LWB saloon. F/R, 6592 cm³ (V12 DOHC). “Small” Rolls-Royce, taking the company downmarket from Phantom super-saloon, while retaining brand’s values and exclusivity. Steel body. Name meant to recall earlier, famed Silver Ghost. Platform related to BMW’s F01 beneath the 7er-Reihe, but wheelbase, track widths unique. Some parts (air conditioning, some electronics, some brake and suspension components) shared with BMW, though these are not visible to the everyday user; twin-turbo V12 (putting out an impressive 563 bhp) did not appear in any preceding model. Less bulk than Phantom, meaning more of a driver’s car, but quiet and refined as one would expect from the brand. Refreshed Ghost II in 2014 with some external visual updates, but fewer changes to the drivetrain.

Manufacturing location: Goodwood, West Sussex, England

Marque: Rolls-Royce | Model: Rolls-Royce Ghost | Predecessor: Rolls-Royce Silver Seraph | Successor: Rolls-Royce Ghost (2020–)

q.v. Rolls-Royce Wraith (2013–23), Rolls-Royce Dawn
