Rolls-Royce Phantom.jpg

Rolls-Royce Phantom (RR01). 2003–17 (prod. 3,703 sold to end of 2007). 4-door saloon, 4-door LWB saloon. F/R, 6749 cm³ (V12 DOHC). BMW-designed all-new Rolls-Royce, built at new factory at Goodwood. A step up from previous Silver Seraph: BMW placed the Phantom well above its own range. Simple interior focused on elegance; exterior, however, very robust in appearance. Styling said to hark back to Silver Shadows but far more imposing, quickly re-establishing Rolls-Royce brand as one of exclusive luxury saloons, not passé versions of Bentleys as they had been under Volkswagen. Long-wheelbase model has extra 250 mm in wheelbase. Series II from 2012, with new eight-speed automatic gearbox. Never referred to as Phantom VII in its lifetime, though the tag began appearing in the press after the launch of its successor.

Manufacturing location: Goodwood, West Sussex, England

Marque: Rolls-Royce | Model: Rolls-Royce Phantom | Predecessors: Rolls-Royce Phantom VI, Rolls-Royce Silver Seraph, Rolls-Royce Park Ward | Successor: Rolls-Royce Phantom VIII
